Hydrostatic Level / DP

Calculate hydrostatic pressure from liquid head and specific gravity, or determine the equivalent liquid head from a measured pressure.

Practical SG basis: density = SG × 1000 kg/m³.

Useful for open-tank level, bubbler/reference checks and understanding the liquid-head contribution in DP level applications.

Calculation basis

P = ρ × g × h
ρ = SG × 1000 kg/m³
g = 9.80665 m/s²

Important: specific gravity and density vary with composition, temperature and pressure. For precision calibration or inventory work, use the actual process density at the required reference/operating condition.

This tool calculates liquid head only. It does not include vessel vapor pressure, capillary fill-fluid effects or remote-seal temperature effects.
