Metering
K-Factor / Pulse-to-Volume
Convert total flow-meter pulses to volume, or calculate the expected pulse count for a volume, using the meter-specific K-factor.
Field use
Use the K-factor actually assigned to the meter.
Turbine and other pulse-output meters may be supplied with a K-factor or calibration data. The K-factor is tied to its stated pulse and volume units.
Calculation basis
Volume = pulses ÷ K-factor
Pulses = volume × K-factor
A K-factor stated as pulses/bbl cannot be used directly with litres or m³. Convert the K-factor or use the same volume unit stated by the meter calibration/configuration.
This tool performs pulse/volume scaling only. It does not calculate meter factor, linearization, temperature/pressure correction, proving repeatability or custody-transfer corrections.
