BS&W / Hydrocarbon Volume

Apply a stated basic sediment and water percentage to a measured liquid volume while keeping free-water treatment and all other correction factors explicit.

BS&W deduction

Use volumes measured on one consistent basis.

%

Enter this only when your test/reporting method removes free water separately before applying the BS&W percentage.

Production-test basis

BS&W is not automatically the same as water cut.

BS&W can include water, sediment and emulsion in the sampled production stream. Keep the laboratory/field measurement method and reporting basis with the result.

Calculation basis

Basis volume = Gross − separately gauged free water
BS&W volume = Basis × BS&W / 100
Hydrocarbon volume = Basis × (1 − BS&W / 100)

This is only a BS&W volume deduction. It does not apply temperature correction, pressure correction, shrinkage, meter factor, API gravity correction or convert separator-condition volume to stock-tank/standard volume. If free water is already represented by the stated BS&W measurement basis, leave the separate free-water field at zero to avoid double deduction.
