Engineering Toolbox/Well-Test Liquid Rates

Well Testing & Production

Well-Test Liquid Rates

Calculate oil, water and total liquid daily rates from measured phase volumes and test duration.

Measured test volumes

Use oil and water volumes measured over the same test interval.

Well-test use

Convert a measured test interval into daily phase rates.

Test separators are used to separate and measure oil, water and gas phases so individual-well performance can be evaluated.

Measurement basis

Daily rate = measured volume × (24 h / test duration)
Water cut = water / (oil + water) × 100

No correction is applied. The calculated daily rate retains the basis of the supplied measured volumes.

Do not interpret the oil result as a stock-tank/corrected BOPD value unless the supplied oil volume has already been corrected to the required reporting basis. Meter factor, shrinkage, temperature, pressure and PVT corrections are outside this tool.
