Gas/Oil Ratio (GOR)

Calculate producing gas/oil ratio from a standard gas rate and an oil rate on the stated reporting basis.

Production rates

Gas rate must be referenced to standard conditions.

Well-test use

Relate produced gas to produced oil.

GOR is a core production-test ratio, but the gas and oil reporting bases must be defined before the result is meaningful.

Calculation basis

GOR = standard gas rate (scf/d) / oil rate (STB/d)

The gas input is converted to scf/d from SCFD, MSCFD or MMSCFD. The oil input must use the intended stock-tank or defined reference basis.

Do not enter actual gas volume at separator line pressure/temperature as though it were standard cubic feet. Standardization/compressibility calculations are outside this tool.
