Water Cut

Calculate the produced-water fraction of total liquid from oil and water volumes or rates measured on the same basis.

Liquid split

Both inputs must use the same unit and measurement basis.

Production testing

A simple ratio that depends on consistent inputs.

Use phase volumes from the same collection interval, or oil and water rates reported on the same basis.

Calculation basis

Water cut = Water / (Oil + Water) × 100

Water cut is the ratio of produced water to total produced liquid. Mixing corrected and uncorrected phase quantities will give a misleading result.
